ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Robert Robert Astle is an Albertan by birth. In 1977, he went to Europe to study theatre, improvisation acrobatics, and creation at the famed École Jacques Lecoq in Paris. In 1982, he co-founded Edmonton¹s Small Change Theatre, creating, performing, producing and touring in the company¹s internationally acclaimed clown and mask shows. In 1990, Robert returned to Europe to collaborate with Belgian writer and director Agnès Limbos on his one-man show Heart of a Dog, which has toured Belgium, Canada, The United Kingdom, and the United States. In 1996, Robert created his second solo show, The Hats of Mr. Zenobe in collaboration with American artist, Jim Jackson, and Agnès Limbos. The work has played in Edmonton, Montreal, Toronto, Victoria, Colorado Springs, Whitehorse, Calgary, and Kelowna. Last spring, Robert also performed in the new French translation Les chapeaux de Monsieur Zenobe in Montreal. In 1998, Robert moved to Montreal and is currently teaching at the National Theatre School and at Concordia University in the Department of Drama.
