Moderator Feet Banks will plumb the depths of thriller fiction with C.S. Reardon (The Spanish Boy), Joy Fielding, RJ McMillan, Steven Price, Peter Robinson, and the winner of the Whistler Independent Book Award for Crime Fiction.

Jane Harris, author of Finding Home in the Promised Land: A Personal History of Homelessness and Exile will be appearing at LitFest 2016, where she will discuss navigating Canada's health care system with cancer survivor Teva Harrison.

Endre Farkas (Never, Again) will be participating in the Writers of Fiction panel, along with Ann Eriksson, Jim Lynch, Jennifer Manuel, Gillian Wigmore, and the winner of the Whistler Independent Book Award.

On Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at 7:30 PM. at the Baie-d'Urfé Library, Louise Carson will be part of a panel discussion: Writers on Writing.

Special guest reader George Amabile has published ten books and had work appear in over a hundred national and international venues.

He has won awards in the CAA National Prize, the CBC Literary Competition, the Petra Kenney International Competition and the MAC national poetry contest, and the National Magazine Awards. His latest poetry collection, Martial Music (Signature Editions) was published in April 2016. Other recent publications include a long poem, Dancing, with Mirrors and Small Change, both of which won Bressani Awards. Amabile lives in Winnipeg.

Roland Vandal will be speaking about his book Off the Ropes as well as addressing bullying, cyber-bullying, PTSD, sex and gender at the Angle Inlet School. Located on the Canadian border, in Minnesota's Northwest Angle, the Angle Inlet School is the only surviving one-room school in the state.

There will be a meet-and-greet and book signing.

Roland was invited to speak about his book on Sunday at Reid's Fight for Life rally about his experiences with mental health and the Winnipeg healthcare system.

Hosted by Tightrope Publisher Jim Nason and Canadian Parliamentary Poet Laureate, George Elliott Clarke, the event will feature readings related to human rights issues by acclaimed poets from some of Canada’s top independent publishers.
