Action Read's Annual Poetry and Music Fundraiser will feature poetry reading from The Shape of a Throat author Sheila Stewart, alongside Luke Hill, Rob Winger, Brian Henderson, and Livingston. There will also be music by Ian Reid and Ambre McLean, as well as refreshments and a silent auction. Tickets are $15.00, and are available at the Bookshelf, as well as at Action Read, 2 Quebec Street.

Come down to the Markham Village library during National Poetry Month to take in some music and poetry with Dina E. Cox. A special performance by a brass quintet composed of members from the Markham Concert Band, featuring Dina as one of the performers, will precede a reading from her poetry collection small flames.

Meet at the library for a relaxing and entertaining evening with one of Canada's most engaging authors, Margaret Macpherson. During the intimate evening, Macpherson will discuss her latest book, Body Trade, in a book club format. Carolyn Marie Souaid, poet and author of Blood is Blood, October, Paper Oranges, Snow Formations, Swimming into the Light and Satie's Sad Piano, will be taking part in 21 poètes pour le 21e siècle, organized by Claude Beausoleil, Poet Laureate of Montreal.

Michael Pacey will be reading at St. Mary's University from his collection The First Step.

Join Passenger Flight author Brian Campbell in an evening of poetry, prose, and music. Brian will be appearing alongside Alice Petersen, Marko Sijan, Harold Hoefle, Erika White, and Barry Webster, with music by Tom Fox.

Stephanie Yorke will be reading from her poetry collection Both Boys Climb Trees They Can't Climb Down at Durham University in Durham City, UK.

Margaret Macpherson will be giving the Keynote address at the Highlands School Young Readers Conference.

Body Trade author Margaret Macpherson will be running a writing workshop at the Wainright Public Library from 1-4 PM. Later that evening, at 7 PM, she will be doing a public reading.

Sheila Stewart will be appearing in conjunction with The (not so) Nice Italian Girls and Friends, an evening of multiple author readings. Other featured authors include Michelle Alfano, Bocelli, Nancy Bullis, Norman Critofali, and emcee Giovanna Riccio. Sheila will be reading from her poetry collection The Shape of a Throat.

Stella Harvey will be doing a reading at the Whistler Rotary Club, followed by a presentation on her trip to Kalavytra, and more information on the cultural events that took place there, which have much grounding in her novel Nicolai's Daughters.

Stella Harvey will be doing a reading in Pemberton at the end of the month, promoting the release of her first novel, Nicolai's Daughters.

Mary Hagey, author of the short story collection Castles in the Air, will be launching her book in her hometown at Books on Beechwood.

For the final leg of her book tour, Stella Harvey will be doing an afternoon reading and book chat at Cafe Books West in the beautiful town of Rossland, BC.

As a part of the University of Sherbrooke's Study of Comparative English and Intercultural Canadian Literature series, Sheila Stewart will be on hand for a reading and a discussion of the state of Canadian poetry.

For the fourth stop on Stella Harvey's Nicolai's Daughters book tour, she'll be taking part in the Pen in Hand Reading Series in Victoria.
